There are three issues I'd like to fix before that, in order:

#845678: file_munge_filename and use a token and make sure files are uploaded to the temp dir
#914252: Adding presave/postsave hooks to Plupload
#919482: create ability to assign parameters in the url, implement taxonomy term as an example

do you all need help developing/maintaining this? our team may jump on it to eventually get a stable 6.x release going for a project we are working on

@rerooting - I can't speak for greggles, and he's the maintainer, but as a co-maintainer I'd say we'd welcome any patches that helped get us to a 6.x release (so long as it doesn't change the overall direction/goal of the module). AFAIK, I'm the only maintainer whose focus is on the 6.x branch - most the other maintainers are working on 7.x. It pretty close really, I've just been completely swamped trying to get through alpha testing on node_gallery ATM.

So, in summary, if you have patches that work and get the module closer to it's goal, then by all means share them!

With over 2000+ sites using this, shouldn't it be time for at least an alpha1 release... just to have a static usable version defined?

I am currently only able to focus on 7.x-1.x branch maintenance. I can release D6 version if community agrees about this.

Any co-maintainers for D6 would also be welcome.
