Your response will help shape the future of the Drupal business ecosystem.If I add a product to my cart, and then add a product kit that contains that product, instead of the quantity being changed on the cart page to '2' I get a duplicate entry of the product.
I can see how this could be by design if a discount was being applied to the product kit but im using this option;
'As individual products. Customers may add or remove kit components at will. Discounts entered below are not applied to the kit price'

ewyglend commentedI have this same situation. Since I do not have attributes to configure my subproducts, I would like them to all add together, whether added individually or through a product kit.

tr commentedAnd on second thought, let's call this a feature request. Line items are deliberately duplicated, because that's what you want in most cases - products purchased as kits may have discounts, and you don't want the user to be able to increase the quantity of only one of the products in the kit and still get the discount, which is what would happen if the lines were combined. Likewise, you may want to restrict products to being purchased only as part of a kit, not separately.
But in the case where you're listing them as individual products, where discounts aren't applied, and where you want to sell the products individually as well as in a kit (what's the kit for then?), we should allow the lines to be combined.
