This would be great! I am building a wide-open blog, where anyone can post or comment without registration. Relax, it's for an intranet. This would be a great feature...

you can install the subscriptions module, which offers many options to get notifications when the type of node you selected is being posted. You can also choose the taxonomy you want to subscribe to.
