I'd like to see a feature in the core Menu module that allows you to add a class id to a menu option. This way, using CSS you can control the button and it's effects (such as background and rollover effects). Along with this, there should be a checkbox to disable the text so the button can be replaced with a rollover image button.

I've actually seen this in Joomla, and you can do this with all content created (using a prefix and suffix), although their implementation is a little messy.

I'd like to see this as a core addition to 5.x as I believe will allow for a lot more customisation of the site.

Great ideas.

I'm in the process of rewriting the menu building portion of this module to be jQuery based instead of CSS + jQuery which will add in lots of flexible, configurable options like that.
