I have created a module , which seems to have the same features than the 'elements' module. In addition to the number,email and url elements, it also provides a slider-control element.
So when I was applying for a CVS account (#839776: hosszu.kalman [hosszukalman]), I was pointed to this project, and asked to collaborate and be a co-maintainer of your module.

I would suggest you to post improvements as patches - then if the need arises and your patches looks good and solid you will be in a good position for a co-maintainership.

Yep, I always like to build trust with my co-maintainers. I usually approve someone after they've contributed patches and have been helping in the issue queues. I'd encourage you to contribute and then re-open this issue when appropriate.
