I have several drupal sites,Hosting on Dreamhost. its always happend "404,page not found",i don't know why...
Hosting problem?drupal bugs?

it's bad for my visitors,they come from google to see a 404 page,then close my site...

I want to know why it is happen? if you know,or you have the same problem,please leave message,let's me know!

I'm on dreamhost as well and i get the same thing all the time. It's become way more common for it to happen. I'm beginning to get furious with this. I recently had an issue where I got Access Denied and could not access any Admin functions. I was ready to wipe the site and do a clean install when all of a sudden it started working.

You mean the problem is by DreamHost? so how could we fix it? they told me no problem found,everthing works fine. and they don't know that...

this happens to me on Dreamhost shared hosting relatively often as well. if you have dedicated hosting you shouldn't see it, but it happens on shared hosting.

I have a friend hosting on dreamhost too, he never get this shit...

I think it's a dreamhost issue as well, as I've checked everything I know to check and everythign seems fine. Dreamhost says everything is workign fine on their end as well but......I dunno. this is really getting to me

I was plagued by 404 and 500 errors on a Dreamhost install of Drupal. Probably every 4th or 5th page refresh threw up one of these errors. Clearing the cache generally gave me a 500 error. The logs would tell me that the error was due to internal_error.html

The fix was to add a file in the root of the Drupal install named internal_error.html. It didn't need anything in it just had to sit there. Ever since I did that ALL errors have stopped. Not even one in the last week.

Yeah, but it's not fixing the problem. Dreamhost has a kill process that stops whatever you're doing if you use too much CPU or memory. While they're great for Wordpress sites, Drupal and Dreamhost are not a good match. I recently moved to AN Hosting, which has been significantly better. The web and db servers are on the same box, so latency is lower as well.

I have experienced the same problem with one of my client's sites on Dreamhost. About every 5th or 6th page request throws a 404 and about 1 in every 25 admin page requests throws a 500. They have such a nice deal for non-profits, I hate to move them. But if this keeps up, we won't have much choice!
