When I go to administer all my content from the admin panel, I have a ton of pages, and would like to order them alphabetically, as opposed to by edit date. Is this actually possible?

you can use views to override most standard screens and adjust the sort order

First let me thank you for your post. When changing the order of frontpage the default URL is frontpage but you need to change that to node to match drupals default for the frontpage.
