Hello,

In the panels Ui under Menus there are options for setting a Menu Tab or a default Menu Tab. Can somebody please help me understand what these do?

I have been unable to find any documentation that describes the effect of settings these. Nor have I been able to find out what they do by experimenting.

These settings are no Panels specific, so what you are looking for is the Drupal Core menu system documentation.
