First of all, thank you for taking the time to make your screencast about Semantic CCK. A group of us at my office watched it together and we're very encouraged to see people taking an interest in this module.

Regarding the UI being "messy", an issue has already been created for that (#839092: Reduce/reorganize nested fieldsets to improve usability) and we welcome any suggestions you might have there. With respect, I think we'd rather not post an "official" screencast on the project page that says our module is messy, we'd rather do something to make it better first :)

I think rhache was intending to make a screencast of his own for Semantic CCK, so I'm going to assign this issue to him and he can let us know what he wants to do about that.

Great news!

I'll see if I can write up some kind of suggestion of how a less 'messy' interface would look.

Ok, I ended up making changes directly in the module – it seemed easier than sketching changes and then taking screenshots or whatever.
All these comments relate to the field configuration form.

I've done a number of suggestions for label changes, and also moved the field value settings above the label settings (since I figure that's what most people will want to change).

A change I did't know how to make was to disable the 'Use Semantic HTML Settings Below For This Instance Only' checkbox if the 'Use Semantic HTML For Field Output' isn't checked. (One could even consider hiding the checkbox in that case.)

Attached is a patch with all the suggestions/ideas. Use the ones you find sensible.
The patch is made against the 1.1 version, meaning that it doesn't include classes for labels. :-/

Sorry if the word 'messy' was percieved too harsh. I usually don't think very much when I'm recording screencasts, and sometimes I say stupid things. I hope that it was clear that I like Semantic CCK.
I think that Rules – perhaps my all-time favourite module – also is quite messy. But Rules, like Semantic CCK, has great functions. For me it is what's inside that counts. :-)
