Assign one pic to multiple galleries

Currently, you have to have the same image on two different nodes. Setting as a feature request.

I don't know how this would work UI-wise, and what the added value would be. Can you give us some input on this?

My two cents...

I do not know what kind of conflicts this would create but I can think of a situation where you have hundreds if not thousands of Gallery Image nodes of photos of various artists (solo photo shoot, solo or in a group at events, etc). Then If you had individual artist galleries as well as galleries for various events, it would make sense to have the photos of artist appearing in an event gallery to also be included in the gallery for that individual artist.

A related scenario would be where a whole bunch of Gallery Image nodes are created in batches and assigned to one default gallery. Using the default gallery for browsing the nodes, extra information is added to each Gallery Image node along with specifying which other galleries it belongs to.

This is an awesome module as it is, adding this feature would make it even more awesome. Thank you very very much for developing it.

I was looking to do the same thing. I am a themer so I don't know if what I am saying is actually feasible.

Looking at the database I see that every image has its nid and gid stored in node_gallery_images table. The gid is the gallery it is in, couldn't that be changed to allow multiple values? Then for the UI part stays a select list but can have multiple values selected.

At this point, I won't be adding new features to the D6 version. If features are wanted for D7, please post a new issue.
