Pathauto not generating url alias for taxonomy terms

i'm wondering why pathauto is not generating url alias for my taxonomy terms.

Setting: Create a new alias. Delete the old alias.

Taxonomy term path setting: taxonomy/term/ -to- author/[catpath-raw]
- so for ex: "taxonomy/term/123" would be "author/my-name"

i have no problem generating url alias for node-type, only for taxonomy of terms.

can anyone please help?
