Essentially what I'd like is a way to limit the amazon search by seller id so that results found only contain items from one seller.

Are you talking about the amazon_search module?

If you're not familiar with Amazon Store you should get familiar with it too. It has more extensive search capabilities.

Would your limit be for the entire site? Or for particular searches?

Let me know if this makes any sense; I didn't choose Amazon Store because I already have a shopping cart on our website and I don't want to have two competing carts; What I'd really like is for the regular Search feature of Drupal to go DIRECTLY to the amazon_search module so that there's no option to change from Content to Amazon searching. Then when searching Amazon I want to limit the results to one specific seller so ONLY results from that seller appear.

It's easy enough to use a menu that goes directly to /search/amazon. Just remove the regular search menu. You could do fancier things as well, but that would require code.

So then the question is how to limit the search to one vendor? Through site configuration (so all searches of amazon_search would always be limited to that vendor) or somehow configuring using a URL or something.

Patches that make sense for the module are welcome. I think we need community agreement that such a feature would be a good thing.

Responding to your email - it's better to do these things in the issue queue so that other people, either now or in the future, can be in the loop. It's also *much* easier for me to manage my time if things come in the issue queue instead of in email.

Hi Phil - It's actually better to do this in the issue queue, because then other people with the same interests, now or in the future, can chime in.

1. Limiting to one vendor: There is currently no way to limit the search to one vendor. That would be a new feature. I assumed you knew that and that's why you made this issue a feature request.

2. Fiddling with the menu: Drupal has a menu editor at admin/build/menu where you can disable the existing search menu and add a custom menu of your own that points to search/amazon.

Ok I admit cluelessness; I've muddled around with amazon's default search for almost a week trying to figure out how to make it work and "disable the existing search menu and add a custom menu of your own that points to search/amazon". I have no idea how to do this, and I can't find any step by step instructions on the drupal site (I also asked this in the forums but no one responded). I need step by step instructions I guess how to create a custom menu that points to amazon search.

Here's what I was suggesting:

1. Go to admin/build/menu/list and choose a menu you'd like to add amazon search to. I'm going to use "primary links"

2. Add an item. The path should be search/amazon_search. The menu link title can be anything you want.

You may also want to disable the existing search menu entry if it's enabled. I think by default it's not enabled.

You now have a menu item that goes straight to the Amazon search form.

Randy, that does give a button that's clickable to the search page, but it does not give me the text box I want on that front page where they could type without having to click anything ... the default search does this.
