When you go to administer > settings > taxonomy_breadcrumb and open the "Advanced Settings" fieldset it is possible to toggle between Include and Exclude but if you alter the "Node types to include or exclude:" input field it will always revert to "Book". It is not possible to save another value.

The new cvs version seems to work. The value in the input field is now saved.
