Hi Michelle,

is it possible to have a link to edit profile datas in place?

CTools / Panels now has an in place editor. I haven't looked at it so I don't know the extent of the functionality available but I suggest you look at that to see if it would work for you.

The status of this one might confuse people in believing that it is actually a supported feature of this module. Setting it to postponed seems more appropriate if there is interest in implementing it, but no time right now.

Feel free to change it to something else if the 'postponed' status doesn't make sense to you, but please do not set it back to 'fixed' because ...well it is not fixed ;)

Version: 6.x-1.0-rc1 » 6.x-1.x-dev

I'm also changing this to the 6.x-dev version (since new features got to the next dev) till there is a 7.x branch available.

...I saw this comment in the project's page:

7.x: I intend to branch for Drupal 7 soon but won't be actively working on the upgrade for at least another couple of months. If anyone wants to help, let me know. The 1.x version in D7 will be a straight port to keep it simple. In 2.x, I plan to expand the tool set and have some ideas like making use of the new In Place Editing in Panels.

So, Michelle, if you'd create two 7.x 'dummy'/unsupported 7.x dev builds (one for 7.x-1.x and one for 7.x-2.x branch), then this could be set to the 7.x-2.x-dev.

...sorry, I forgot to say that I'd love to have this backported to 6.x once it is implemented in 7.x (and if possible).

This is a support request, not a feature request, and it's fixed because that's the best answer I can give.

While IPE is something I plan on looking at eventually, that won't be until after a straight port to D7 is done, and I don't know if it would actually become part of APK. I haven't even looked at it yet at all.

Ok, I admin that I've failed to see that this was filed as a support request, but still I insist that even your words like

I plan on looking at eventually

in #5 + the note on the modules page, translate to 'postponed'. Perhaps change it to a feature request too. But I'll leave it up to you.

If there is another issue filed as a feature request for this, that I haven't found it, so please point me to it if it exists. Thanx.

I just didn't see much point in having an open issue for something that I'm just going to look at, not necessarily even add, 3+ months from now, on a version I haven't even begun porting to, that I already say on the project page I'm going to look at. But, if it's important to you, there you go.

Thanx Michelle.

The extra issue is here so I can be notified via email of any progress and so I can monitor it through my issues list. The alternative is to 'manually' check the module's page once in a while, but still this will be helpful only if you remember to update the 'Features' section. Once there's a patch available that needs testing all people that have subscribed to this issue will know if there's something to test so they can help you get this in faster + increase QA.

Besides, marking issues can also serve as a todo reminder for you if you filter postponed issues in the module's queue ;)

... the minor change in the title is so that people can spot this issue (people that are not familiar with what the term IPE stands for) and it will help prevent duplicate issues in the queue.

This is not happening in D6 and D7's future is uncertain. No need to have an issue on it.
