Hi all, I've just decided for a number of reasons to install Drupal 7 and I am loving it (as a complete novice I find it much better than v6 or Commons).
However, I have so far just one problem, uploading a theme or module doesn't work. I have a properly configured FTP server, which I can access via FTP client and even via Firefox. When I provide my server connection details (in authorize.php) it just keeps coming back asking me to resupply them, no errors at all are given.
I am using PHP v 5.3.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 with ftp modules enabled.
Regards
Andrew

Hi, Andrew
I'm not really sure you should be messing with authorize.php.
Just simply upload your themes to sites/all/themes/themename and modules to sites/all/modules/modulename using your FTP client.

Hi Ejstrup, thanks for the prompt reply. When you want to install a module you are given 2 choices, "install from a url" and "Upload a module or theme archive to install", the second of these opens up the authorize.php page for you to enter your ftp details, so this is default behaviour, not messing ;-)
As you suggest I have manually copied the theme to the sites/all/themes/themename folder and Drupal 7 sees it just fine.
Unless someone has any ideas why ftp isn't working, I'll be patient and wait and see if it works in the final release.
Thanks Again.

I hadn't noticed that Drupal 7 feature ;-)

I hope they get the release version of this out soonish. To my mind the difference between version 6 and 7 is like the difference between Windows 3.1 and Windows 7 ;-)

Hi Adrew,
You find the solution ????
Solution - works for me!!!
The problem in my case is that some directories not have the right permission.
Use this correct it:
$ chown -Rc www-data:www-data
