I would love this functionality. Any progress on it?

Here's my use case (if you're interested): I've created an event registration form that has different pricing levels. So I'd love to be able to choose the proper attributes in the webform and have that information passed to Ubercart, with the ability to edit it in the cart if you need to change your selection. Not sure if this is what you were envisioning, but if it includes this that would be great.

Wow. So I've obviously got an issue with my settings since I haven't gotten emails about issues in the queue and find a bunch here. Sorry.

I'm not sure about an answer to this at the moment. I've been enormously swamped the last few months so I haven't been able to touch it. And this particular part of the project is really temperamental. I have mixed feelings, actually. I really feel there are a number of enhancements that could be made to Ubercart Attributes in general and have to wonder if what I had originally intended for this module is really a good idea.

Hi,

Thanks for the interest in this.

Unfortunately, I have to say I have very mixed feelings about proceeding. The main issue I see is that this particular aspects of development - working with Ubercart attributes - seems to really open up a "can of worms". Extending one feature / solving one need often tends to create 2 or 3 issues along the way.

I'm not sure how to better explain this at the moment without getting into a long post. Some aspects of how Ubercart handles attributes as well as some of the cart/checkout items makes it difficult to extend through a module. It also causes potential issues with how other contributed modules are trying to "get involved" in the checkout process, potentially creating incompatibility.

Really getting into a robust extension of attribute functionality would be a very large project - and it would probably be better suited as a feature/upgrade request and contribution to Ubercart itself. But I've not had any conversations about this aspect.

I will sit down and look at it again. But at the time I decided to not include it in the release, it was not the primary features of the module itself that was the issue. It was more due to issues I started seeing as I got into more extensive testing.

Comments are welcome because I stated at the beginning I have very mixed feelings about the direction for this.

I have not yet tried this out, but Mustardseed Media has released a new module called Ubercart Event Registration that ties together Webform and Ubercart. That module does not currently support attributes either but it's on the list for future improvements according to the podcast (http://mustardseedmedia.com/podcast/episode46). So anyone with a similar use case to mine might want to look into it — by the time you read this maybe the attribute features have been added to that module since it sounds like adding them to this one is a pretty big endeavor.

Not trying to refer people away from ECO, @WebNewCastle — it really saved my life when I needed to integrate Ubercart & Webforms this fall! But if people need attribute support then that's another possible direction they could go.
