Provide integration with the file_usage table to allow users to see where their files are in use.

And perhaps also prevent deletion of files in use... or at least ask if you want to delete the file even if it is in use.

This is possible with the Views integration now. You can extend the listing at admin/content/file with a 'File usage' count.
