It would be nice if the management of the node limits could be a bit more refined. This is a very important function in the use of nodes as profiles and the NodeProfile suite.
currently, when a user tries to create a second node, that has been restricted to 1 node of its type, the user has the ability to enter all the info, then click submit or preview and is told
You can't create more nodes of this type for this user.
it would be cleaner if this was handled similar to the noprofiles module where (i think) the module checks for an existing node, or number of nodes, against the total number that can be created, and gives a simple message "you have entered the maximum number of %content type" and not even allow the form to appear.

fagothis feature is already provided from the nodefamily module, which handles this for the nodeprofile module too. however if you are an admin you get the node form, because you can change the node author and submit the node for this user.
Non-privileged users won't get a node form as you describe it for the nodeprofile module.

jbhan commentedha! yes, i see that now! thanks.
is there a way to change the text to be more user friendly? with a variable string to say the type of node instead of "node"?
admittedly, i do not have the most up to date version of nodefamily installed, so it may do that. (sorry if it already does)
thanks fago, using this module through is evolution has been alot of fun. i don't think i am using it to its full potential though :).

scottrigbyHi fago,
I'm using nodefamily 5.x-1.3 to set max population to 1, and I get the same error as above for users who aren't admin. don't have administer nodes privilege.
they do have ability to create nodes of that type, and to edit thir own nodes. But this should be obvious, right?
Am I doing something wrong? (because I saw this as fixed)
An additional question -- related:
Personally, if a user isn't able to create more nodes of a certain type, I'd like it to not even appear in the create content list at all. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks in advance for your help!

scottrigbysorry - needed to change the Version from (4.7.x1.x-dev to 5.x-1.3) and can't do that when editing comments for some reason!

fagothe issue is about getting the message, instead of showing a form - which is the behaviour.
