mix2r.com soft launch

We've been building a site based on Drupal 4.7 and the work of several talented Drupal module contributors with the purpose of creating a community of amateur musicians. Most music related sites these days are (perhaps rightly so :-)) targeted at the promotion and consumption of music, so we decided to focus on applying web social networking to the creation of music.

The URL to the site is www.mix2r.com.

It is far from perfect at this point, but we really just wanted to get it out there and try to build a community --- evolving along the way toward the requirements of our user base.

No surprise here, but we are big consumers of the excellent Audio.module. We've extended it a bit by way of an "audio_associate.module", which allows us to keep track of audio files that were uploaded as a "derivative" of an existing audio file...the idea being that we can allow users to see who is extending their work.

The theme is based on Andreas09...although we've not added much value to this theme, mostly just adding templates for custom node types and embedding our logo.

Future features include options to combine audio files online, interface improvements, license management and more.
