Hi,

Can anyone help me work out how to redirect an anonymous user to a thankyou page once they've clicked a "download now" link (PDF file)??

The only thing I could think of was ubercart, but that's way overkill for this...

Build a ThankYou page and try redirecting to that page with Actions and Triggers (optional core).
If it's not possible with Actions and triggers then you're after the Rules module. you can definitely do this with Rules

I have the same question...
1. Visitor clicks to download file from product page
2. File opens in new window
3. The original (product) page should redirect to thank you page
