Access denied! Help!!!! PHP 5 upgrade :(

robomalo - November 7, 2006 - 17:16

We just had our hosting company upgrade our server to PHP 5.2. This is where the problem begins.

I tried to login to our site as admin (user 1) and it takes me to the main admin page as expected. As soon as I hit ANY admin link I am kicked out to a page saying "You are not authorized to access this page." This is terrifying! I know this isn't due to TAC Lite or Simple Access, because our main server doesn't have these modules installed. I cannot access any admin screens with any users we have set up at all.

I cannot make any changes to our site or do any work. Keep in mind this is an extremely high profile institution and the heat will probably be coming down pretty quick!

Has any experienced this or know how to work around this? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You saved me from having to cry in front of my colleagues! The patch failed for me in SSH, but it was easy enough to apply manually.

Is this fix going to be in Drupal 4.7.5 you think?

Do you know of any other critical patches I need to apply since we upgraded to PHP 5.2?

I don't have inside info,

I don't have inside info, but I would bet that any patch for a bug which makes Drupal unusable under a new PHP release will be backported (after some developer review). 4.7 is still supported, after all. I would just apply the changes for now and follow that issue.

Oh, and fago is the one to thank. I only happened to see it and passed it along.
