kim-day commentedThe search results do not have the colored bars to indicate likely result quality depicted in the prototype.
In the prototype the heading "How can we help you?" does not have a colon ending it but the beta site does.
If I enter a word in the instant search box and then hit the "enter" key I get a javascript error (screenshot attached). I realize there is no need to press enter in the instant search box but since I did it by reflex others probably will as well.
If I search for a word containing a period like page.tpl.php, I get a js error pop-up box "An HTTP error 500 occurred" (screenshot attached).
Other than the above, this page looks good and functions correctly in Safari, Firefox 3.6, Chrome and IE 8.

kyle_mathews commentedI can confirm the JS error when searching for page.tpl.php on both Firefox 4 + Chrome 7.
I didn't see any error however in those two browsers if I clicked enter when searching. What browser are you using kim-day?
kim-day commentedI got the JS error by pressing the return key (immediately after I completed typing in my search term) on all of these browsers Safari, Firefox 3.6, Chrome and IE 8. If I typed my term and waited a second or two and then hit enter I did not get the JS popup error.
I also was not able to make the error occur in IE 7.

drummThe Solr server is back online, please try again.
kim-day commentedThe JS errors I detailed in #2 are still occurring for me.
csevb10 commentedI suppressed form submissions (since the lookup happens automatically on keyup) so that the enter key can no longer cause issues with the ahah functionality. This should be resolved now.
It may take awhile to be evident (due to caching, code deployments, and js aggregation), but this should be good moving forward.
bonobo commentedjs errors not appearing in FF 3.6.10
The colored bars indicating relevance (as shown in the mockup) are not in place.

heather commentedThis box ... I mean... it's really weird. I think this is a big mistake putting this search box here.
I see how the intention was to be a friendly bait and switch. "How can we help you?" but actually meaning "Here, go look in documentation."
I clearly clicked 'community' and not 'documentation'. With the friendly greeting gone, this bait and switch is worse.
I complain about it in more detail here:
#943156: QA: Documentation search from Community home page
The work on this instant search could be used somewhere else, like the Documentation page.

lisarex commentedWe've now moved the search box to the right column per #943156: QA: Documentation search from Community home page... our theme and QA issues are getting a lot of overlap :)
Assigning to c4rl for followup theming issues

esmerel commentedOddly, http://redesign.drupal.org/community or http://beta.drupal.org/community isn't actually letting me log in on IE8. The login/register tab gives me: Access denied. You are not authorized to access this page.... Firefox logs me in as my d.o username (though I could swear I gave it drupal/drupal).
Two screenshots - browser windows are the same size; IE shows a grey background (my default windows background color is grey, not white - not sure if it's picking that up or what)

lisarex commentedOK, I'm closing this since I'm not sure if this is still an issue. if it is, please reopen, and move it to Bluecheese.
