We have the tabs set. But then the unanswered and active topics links get repeated, once in the tabs and once in the forum_secondary_links. Could there be a option to remove those links from the forum_secondary_links when they are shown in the tabs. Personally i would just remove them when tabs are shown.

michelleYeah, that's a good idea. I use Panels on my site so forgot about people who aren't. :)

michelleOk, I made some big changes that I think neatens the forums.
1) I made tabs on by default. They can still be turned off if someone doesn't like them.
2) I moved everything that was "secondary links" into a "forum tools" dropdown like vB has. There is some duplication still on the main forum page but I think that's ok since one set is in the tabs and the other is in a dropdown at the bottom of the page.
Calling this fixed as the main issue is taken care of but I'm probably still going to do a little tweaking on it like make a CTools content type for the drop down and stuff like that.

michelleI've been lumping more stuff in the image replacement issue than really makes sense to go there just because it started out with me making it easier to do the images. But a lot of it is really more part of this issue. Taking over this one so I can keep better track of what I'm doing as I'm only able to work on it in spurts and I don't want to forget anything.
* Secondary links have been moved to a jump menu.
* Primary links have been moved into divs instead of a list and have a new function.
* Forum list and topic list pages are getting a bunch of re-arranging and some stuff is being moved to different preprocesses so it can be laid out better.
* Currently trying to catch up the CTools stuff with these changes.

michelleForgot to put in here to fix the node add links and I see someone has filed an issue on the problem as well so marking that dupe.

michelle@GreenSkunk: I appreciate your offer, I really do. People willing to test and help out are gold. But your timing is awful, I'm afraid. Right now I just need to muddle thru this mess I made and get things back to a working state. I hope to put a good chunk of time on that this week if I can. Right now I think we'd be trampling over each other with you testing things I've already fixed on my site and that's just not a good use of your time. If you are still able to help in a few days, I can make much better use of it. :)
Thanks,
Michelle

pumpkinkid commentedMichelle,
I ran across this post because I was looking for a solution to the "New Topic" link issue on #980862: New Topic link invalid.
Currently, we are using the dev version of AF on our live site and are doing so to take advantage of some of the features you added like the sub-forum nesting.
I realize you are making major changes and that typically we should not be using dev releases on live sites, however, please let us know when you are ready to have us test and I will be more than happy to give you back any feedback I can offer.
Thanks for the work you have done so far :-)

michelleJust keep an eye on the project page. Once things settle down a bit and I'm closer to releasing a new alpha, I'll change the warning on the front page to a call for testers. :) My goal is to get a new alpha out this year so I'm trying to spend as much time as I am able on it.
Thanks,
Michelle

michelleUsing Page Manager with AF is still totally messed up because of this issue. It's looking pretty good when not using PM, though.

michelleSince this totally breaks the forum if you enable the forum page override, adjusting settings...

michelleThis was pretty much taken over by #1001524: Ensure every piece of the forum has a theme function and a CTools content type and the broken parts are now fixed.
