Are there any developers or users of Drupal in the state of Georgia? I'm trying to determine if there is enough interest and support in the state to start a user group. (surrounding states welcome too!)

I'm a user in Atlanta, and I would welcome a GA user group. These meetups in the Netherlands and Iowa are a little too out there for me. ;-)

We run Drupal at the Georgia Podcast Network and love it. I'd very much be interested in a user group.

atlphp has been up and running for a year or two, usually draws a pretty good group and has a good meeting space (except for lack of ready network access). It's first site was actually a drupal, but has since been moved to wordpress/FUD. I recently moved back to the area and went out to the meeting last week, learned some more regular-expression-fu. They are always looking for content topics, and I for one wouldn't be against watching/helping with a drupal presentation, maybe look at

  • setup
  • theme customization
  • underpinnings of module customization

I for one am interested in broader discussion of drupal, but I think one could drum up support at atlphp.

This is encouraging. If there's interest from 5-10 folks, I suggest we put together an informal meeting. I'm working with a local restaurant, so it should be easy to set aside an area for a quick get together and strategy session.

I'm hoping there are a few more Drupal developers in Georgia. It would be great to share ideas and experiences. Please post a thread here if interested.

Turbochef and radmod, I haven't forgotten you two. I'll try to contact you in a few days.

I'll be making a presentation on Drupal to a Visual Foxpro developer's group this week, so hopefully we'll spawn a few more Drupalers in the near future.

We run http://www.DrupalYellowPages.com which will hopefully facilitate more connections like this. A couple of people from Georgia are registered there, including ourselves up in Gainesville.

groups.drupal.org you can get your events in the event feed on Drupal.org too....
