So I'm using a theme that has what I guess is the core breadcrumb feature enabled.

I have a navigational structure that has dropdown menu items, and the parent menu item isn't showing in the breadcrumb when your viewing a page secondary in the hierarchy.

For example:

Main Menu Item
- Sub item 1
- Sub item 2

When viewing "Sub item 1" I would expect the breadcrumb to show this:
Home > Main Menu item > Sub item 1

Instead it's showing this:
Home > Sub item 1

I'm pretty sure I have the content and menu items structured the way they need to be, but I don't know how to get the breadcrumb to include the full path on the sub items.

Any help?

Hello, I'm having this exact problem using my Zen sub-theme. Did you find a solution for it?

As i know it, Drupal 6 only respects the navigation menu when it comes to sublevels in breadcrumbs.
See this great article on the subject http://switchbackcms.com/blog/drupal-breadcrumb-fun
