there are a lot of permission UI modules around. naming some:
filter_perms
permission_select
check_heavy_ui
allperms
better_perms

are there plans to merge them together?

and what about a D7 port?

Unfortunately, I've not had the time to update this module. As soon as I do get the time I will be updating it. Hopefully filter_perms will be updated too.

I've been working on a large project which has been taking most of my time these days.
