I'm testing my website on localhost and trying to get working both alchemy and tagging modules. It seems does not work at all. Absolutely nothing.

Either the module installed incorrectly or it should not work on localhost at all. Your opinion?

It works on my localhost. You do need to be able to reach Alchemy's API. It maybe some sort of local firewall setting.

Could you please clarify:
In /AlchemyAPI directory, do I need place ALL files, extracted from http://www.alchemyapi.com/tools/AlchemyAPI_PHP5-0.5.tar.gz, or just AlchemyAPI.php file?

Yes put all files from the archive in /AlchemyAPI
