Dear Jeff,

Playing around with D7, and wanted to try out Genesis as a theme for customization. I'm no eagle at this, so forgive me my feeble questions.

Q: Is the Subtheme equally good to mod, or do you recommend the 'mother' for this purpose?
Q: Where do I find "layout-uncompressed.css"?

Do not change the core theme (I think you call this the mother).

Mod the subtheme - that is the one to edit.

Look in:

genesis/genesis/css/uncompressed/layout.css - this file has all the layouts with notes.
