My migration went smoot exceptfor the posts. Now I am stuck with a bunch of topics, categories, etc. but no follow up posts. I tried to re-migrate the posts but it keeps giving me the message that Validation was successful and all posts have already been migrated. Is there something I can change here to let me migrate the posts again?

It sounds pretty bad and it is not the expected behavior.

Can you give more details, please?

Do you use a vanilla phpBB or another flavor of phpBB (like Nuke-phpbb, etc.)?
What do you mean by posts? You mean the comments? You have the nodes but not the comments?
Which message do you have where you would have expected an error message?

it was vanilla phpBB but i corrected the problem. some tables were missing but then i reinstalled the module and ran the migration again and everything went successfully.

Thanks for the feedback.

Some phpBB tables were missing? The module should have alerted you and prevented you from running the import script.

Is there any way the module could be improved, like better error reporting? If so, please give details so that we can reproduce, and correct the problem.

No the module was actually perfect. What happened was I had used the module before to migrate my users from the forum to the site. At that time I still wanted to keep the forum as phpBB but I didn't want my users to have to create new accounts. After that migration I disabled the module then deleted the database tables (because my database was a bit too crowded at the time). Later I decided that I needed some of the posts from the forum to be used in my Living Guide section i was creating with the book module. To make a long story short, I needed to reinstall the module to get those database tables back before the migration would be completely successful. It was completely my fault and I'm sorry to have troubled you with that. But thank you for your support!

Ok. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
I feel better knowing that it works as expected :)

Have fun with your site!
