I have a lot of inexperienced users. I think it would be great if there were a pseudo-pop-up lighting up, when a user enters a space or comma, reminding them about the way the input works.

No intervention with the typing, just a note/colourchange on the side, saying "please press enter to submit term".

I would rather suggest a enter hit when they typin a ,-sign instead of a notification. Offcourse except when the ,-sign is located betwee "-signs.

Or even better, just have automatically the option to also submit ,-seperated lists. When the node is saved tagging autoconverts the list to how it should be.
