Weak interface
Hi, it looks an interesting proposal but the site is veeeeeeery slow and the information is not extensive.
Being so slow and without proper documentation I've had a look to the demo site on Drupal. The interface access to the different functionalities is weak since the upper icons are too simple and inexpressive, maybe a menu bar would point faster to the different modules and the underlying area menu offers no order. The interface approach is so weak that is difficult to feel atracted by it.
Do you plan to release more information here? Thanks, JordiTR
BTW, how to install on Drupal?
Hi again. I've downloaded the ERP distribution at SourceForge but I haven't seen any Drupal access module, how can we install it under Drupal?
Trying to install, but fails.
Finally I've managed to see how to activate it through the file /ck-admin/doc/Installation_Manual.html, stepping through the instructions till step 6 to see specific drupal issues. But when setting the admin.php several problems arises:
- it doesn't recognized the platform (?)
- commenting platform detection lines on ckapi.inc.php and manually defining $basedir to my convenience
- now problem comes from connector.inc.php since it doesn't find bootstrap.inc, adding a second dot at the initial include_once line now still white page, no content at all and an error message saying:
Uhmm, that error is not logical since the those drupal files are on its proper place. Any idea?
I have the same issue.
I have the same issue.
CK-ERP Doesn't Run On Windows
Please read the documentation delivered with CK-ERP, there you will find, that CK-ERP does not and will never run on Windows, in the form it is released. Though, with an understanding of the code, you will be able to hack it to work. But there will be no support, and upgrading the system will become a nightmare.
CK Wu, the developer of CK-ERP is adamant about not supporting Windows. If you take a closer look you will notice that the issues are with the file system. And if you wonder why CK hasn't responded, I guess he's slowly getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again, only because people seem to have difficulties with reading a products manual (for which posting to a forum or mailing list is no substitute).

No support, no interest?
Slow site, poor documentation, no email contact anywhere... Why do you post here that news if you don't plan to support it? At least you could be monitoring that thread once in a while. Mostly considering that it could be pretty easy to embed your software at least on a drupal-like module, to provide drupal-like blocks for your general menu and maybe from here create an interesting branch. Well...
Hi, folks, My absolute apology
Hi, folks,
My absolute apology for not monitoring this thread.
JasonMR is right that CK-ERP is designed to fail within Windows. Please refer to the Design Principles listed at, http://ck-erp.net/ckerp/sitemgr/sitemgr-site/?page_name=Principles
CK-ERP.net is slow, because,
1. the site is located at Hong Kong. If you are located away from East Asia, response time will be slower than normal.
2. I am a poor open source developer who cannot afford to purchase sufficient bandwidth for his site.
However, I have setup another site, ck-erp.org . The server is situated at US. Hopefully, you will find this site a bit faster.
To improve the drupal interface, I have added an alternate entry block to the Drupal + CK-ERP demo.
For further queries, please send a message to, http://groups.google.com/group/ck-erp-en . The response turn around time over there will normally be faster.
Btw, a new version, v.0.22.1, had been released. Please refer to, http://drupal.org/node/123834 .
Cheers,
CK
