After installing 2.3 on a site, I was unable to perform manual backups (both quick and advanced). Trying to save a profile from the Profiles tab and from the Advanced backup page failed.

I solved my problem by uninstalling and removing 2.3 and using 2.2.

I'm also having these major problems with the update. Version 2.2 worked fine.

Problem seems gone in 2.4. If anyone else can confirm, this can be closed.
