I've noticed there are lots of places at Drupal.org where we use Views module just to make a huge list of teasers that is pretty confusing and fuzzy. Of course, a search engine is helpful, but browsing to the desired content by using more "human-like" descriptions would help new users of Drupal to navigate the site.

I suggest to put more focus on categorizing the content. It could be applied to modules, themes, profile installations, etc. I think we need pages (page fragments) like this one for those parts I've mentioned: http://www.google.com/dirhp
