Issue Summary
I feel certain before the site was ported, there was a Drupal 7 Module commitment: that the Glossary Module was going to be ready for D7 release. After porting of the site to the redesign, I have searched through every page, and I can't see any reference to it now. So, my question is whether Glossary will be ready when D7 goes full release. Also, there was a table comparing the different versions of Glossary, and this version was the only one that said it was going to be D7 ready. Now, the same table doesn't reference D7 at all. Could the module maintainer comment on D7 status for Glossary, please?

I have never promised this module would be ready by the D7 release date. Nor can I do so now.
#2
But there are plans to port Glossary to D7 later?

Yes

I was interested to know if there were any plans or discussions to revamp Glossary for D7, i.e. to incorporate the various issues between Glossary and G2 for a couple years now? Specifically, I'm thinking about the difference between Glossary using Taxonomy Terms and G2 using Nodes? Thanks in advance...

Scroll down the project page for information on that.

Thanks. I'm still sorting through all the docs and discussions. I'm trying to work the glossary module in an international open source school project using OG for classes where students can add vocabulary terms and articles are rendered with links/tooltips to the definitions. A bit tricky since I don't have much experience with taxonomy...Thanks again...interesting module...

Well, hopefuly you can make the code sprint. None of us has much experience with the D7 version of taxonomy a it is significantly changed.

I live in China so seems unlikely :)
#9
And I am in the USA, so I won't make it either.

Cheers for all of your work on this module. I look forward to seeing its ongoing development.

You might have a look at the Lexicon module, a fork of the Glossary module that has a D7 version.
#12
Is there an update on the code sprint? I've been trying out Lexicon, but it's not highlighting terms out of the box and we're having some issues with it in 7. G2's latest version from Feb still makes it sound too iffy to install in 7. Can't tell if some magic happened in Brussels or no.
Is there a best place to listen in and find out the best place to contribute (IRQ, etc?)? TIA.

@Rufwork: what are the issues you have with the Lexicon module? I maintain the module and would appreciate it if you submit your issues in the project's issue queue so that the module can be improved or I might be able to help you deal with the issue. The Lexicon module does highlight terms in content out-of-the-box if you complete the configuration...
Cheers!

Has there been any progress on this upgrade? I am preparing to upgrade a couple of sites to D7 and really would like to continue to use this module to manage multiple vocabularies.

Running this module through http://drupal.org/project/coder will help get a patch we can contribute to and can be part of moving this project forward.

Hi all,
I'm in the process of porting glossary to D7. I'll post a patch here once I'm done - probably in the next day or so.

How did you go with this nick..??
#22
Hey Nick, any updates on this? ;)

Guys, as stated in #11, over a year ago: have a look at Lexicon, a D7 port (and improved version) of Glossary.

How's the migration from D6 Glossary to D7 Lexicon?
Also wanted to note that the URGENT NEWS on the project page for Glossary really needs to be changed as it is from 2011.
Would have been really good to have "combin[ed] the best ideas from Glossary, G2, Lexicon, and the glossary part of Glossify." into one kick ass project.
EDIT: #972196: Migrate from Glossary to Lexicon - so looks like it will be possible to migrate based on this. However no script to make it easy to go from D6 to D7.
