Location does not save on registration with Content Profile Registration enabled

I've been unable to find any definitive answers on this and it may turn out that it's a problem with Content Profile Registration. Just wondering if anyone knew what causes this and if there's a patch that works to apply to either this or Content Profile Registration.

To recreate:
install Location and set to collect location at registration
install Content Profile and Content Profile Registration
setup some fields to collect on registration (not sure if this is necessary or if just having the module enable would be enough)
try to register a user and you'll see that the location does not get saved.

I've tried playing around with module weights in the system table, but haven't had any success.
