I know, you say "Don't be a hater". But I spend so much time reading through unwanted modules that I have longed for a condensed table (think excel like) of modules to browse through instead.

I just found this site http://drupalmodules.com/ the other day and that has some promise but I still just want a condensed table of the modules.

What do we have now, over 7000 modules. I can't believe no one has designed a view for the drupal.org site that just shows (and searches) for modules within a grid or table.

Am I the only one?

Does such a condensed module listing exist?

Yes, you are right.

What I propose is something similar to the http://drupal.org/about page.
Something with Panels and Views.

Each box might be a category (Administration, SEO, Security, Performance) e.t.c
