When I try to install a module with uploading or from an URL,there is an error message :
Cannot extract temporary://update-cache/938732, not a valid archive.
I use windows 7 and xampp.

I can only install modules with the old method, copying them in the modules folder.
For someone new to Drupal this could be a trouble.
Thanks

Is your temporary directory properly configured? (example.com/admin/config/media/file-system)
Make sure it has the proper permissions, etc.

This doesn't sound like the same error as #951172: Install a module or theme from URL fails, but who knows.

Same problem. Worked fine in 7.0. What has changed?

This still needs more information per the questions in #1.
