Is it possible to create nested menus, or have that feature added?

For instance, the visible menu item could be Restauarants and if a user hovers over it, the menu could expand/drop down to show Italinan, Russian, etc.

I could not find this as a prior issue so my apologies if it has already been addressed or is already possible.

Thank you.

One of the "features" of toolbar is that it is simple. This feature can be created, but it'll add a lot of complexity to the module.

I think Simple Menu (http://drupal.org/project/simplemenu) module will fit more your requirements.

But if someone develop submodule to make this possible in Toolbar I'll be happy. But I don't see this in Toolbar module itself.

I have created a module that extracts the toolbar from admin 1.x and makes it a separate module. This allows for a second row of menu items. I'd rather not have to release another toolbar module, so if you want to take anything from this for the toolbar module that would be great. If you don't think you will go down this route please tell me so I can release a new module.

View the Readme file for how to configure the module.

I also think this would be excellent - a 2-level toolbar is still fairly simple and is better for representing the complexity of Drupal's IA, imo, since then you can have the top-level items be links to the main admin sections, and the next-level items be shortcuts under each category. That's what I miss about Admin 1.0 anyway.

Thanks @redndahead for doing this.

I like it. I'm reading the code. I'll post my thoughts soon.

could be great to have the possibility of an entire menu as shortcut... (with dropdown)

Simple menu is a very good module but Toolbar is more elegant!

Could be cool also to show the avatar near the user name! ;)
(optionally)

Bye!

@dankh Any progress on this. I am going to be using this for my websites so I'm ready to choose a direction.

Yes I'm working on it. I'm working also on consistent release planning for Toolbar 3.0 and Toolbar in D7. I'll publish new issue with ideas and thoughts about the evolution of Toolbar this WE. 2nd level menu in Toolbar will not be coming soon (I'm the only one actively working on this module) so If you have another temporary solution I suggest you use it.

Thanks,

Just an FYI my module is on d.o. It's been renamed to quickbar. http://drupal.org/project/quickbar
