sorry for this basic question. the MediaFront install instructions say to install Audio (& getID3) modules to support audio;
I want to support .mp3 streaming & download initially (& esp. want to support non-Flash devices); video later.
however, D6 version of Audio module has been "unstable" for past year; with no announced committment/plans for D7.
so, how could MediaFront rely on this?
am I missing something here -- maybe inner parts of Audio module are fine regardless of version (maybe just use for file handling/conversion)?
so, does MediaFront supercedes / supplies other audio functionality?
or should I be using something else to get supported audio w/ MediaFront?
thanks
Steve

yannickooEhm...for playing audios you just need filefield. And if you wanna a cover too -> imagefield :)

almalino commentedYeah, for playing mp3 with Mediafront you do not need Audio module. At all. I do not have audio module installed and mediafront works fine here:

saweyer commentedyou're right -- audio does work w/o the extra MediaFront plugins (& CCK fields).
(I do think the docs should be modified to reflect this, rather than implying that unstable/unsupported Audio module is required)
now, to pursue some customizations for views that I saw discussed here (suppressing player when audio isn't present; displaying multiple players), etc.
thanks
