When an image has some text and a link in the text with it. Say I have an image with
Some text an a link in text)

and I create a node with the filter
[image:nid] some text

the output promoted the frontpage will be:
[the image]link in text. some text.

I am not sure this is an image problem or a filter problem. Anyone else seen this or can replicate it?

Sounds like a filter issue. Please upgrade to the new image system and use a new filter system for this.
