One of the main goals of 0.4 is multi-server support. Right now, the assumption that there's a local mysql server for @hostmaster is cooked into a few places, none the least in the installer itself. So to be really complete, this release needs to address what seems to me as a bug.

I think it should be fairly simple to add a --db_server flag to hostmaster-install to accomplish that. It could also create the db server properly.

Upgrades don't seem to create problems on my side, as long as the db server is created.

So far, the rest of this is also working well for me with a remote db server. The only problem is I had to tweak around to upgrade from alpha8 to alpha14 and I couldn't have installed such a setup in the first place...

This shouldn't block the next alpha.
