Hello,

I'm looking for a way to delay the processing of credit card purchases in Ubercart. Instead, an email would be sent to the seller with the purchase details, and the credit card would be charged manually.

Any ideas?

Update: I've coded up a solution by altering some of the Ubercart modules..

P.S.
I'm considering developing this as a module, but I'm swamped with other work.. If for some reason you need this for your site, hit me up.

Hi Modernaut,

I have an issue where a client does not want to accept payments online quite yet. He is usually able to give a customer better deals if they buy in the store, but he still wants them to be able to use the cart. So what I need is to be able to send an email to my client that collects all of the users cart products and displays them nicely in an email, but without requiring payment of any sort. This way he can see if there are any discounts and contact the customer directly.

Will your code accomplish this?

Thanks!
Ryan

I should have checked this sooner..

Yes, it'll do that, although the code is all over the place as of late; I should be able to work up a step-by-step, or maybe even a patch if I had could free up some time in my busy schedule.

Feel free to email me here:

I'll be more responsive.

I'm not sure if modernaut's code has been posted online anywhere, but I was able to achieve a similar result by copying the "uc_payment_pack" module into a new directory, and then modifying it to offer a new "Credit Card Lite" payment option.

That is, similar to how the "Check" payment option will record for each order a date, check #, and whether the check cleared or not, my derivative module will record for each order the date, and whether the card pymt cleared or not. My module records no credit card numbers; it assumes the vendor will follow up with each customer via telephone or in person.

Also, I modified the mailing address variables that were stored under the rubric "make checks out to this address ..." to instead display "this name and address will appear on your card statement ..."

I've added a tarball of the module to this issue:

Nice work!

I'll check this out when I get the chance.
