Is there any way to rotate images after they've been added to the gallery? (ie, from landscape -> portrait or vice versa)

This module just uses regular old imagefields. You can do the same things with them you do with any others. I don't know of any module that does this, but it would be an imagefield question, nothing that would be provided by Views Gallery.
