Greenpeace is a global campaigning organization working on the the most crucial worldwide threats to our planet's biodiversity and environment.
Greenpeace Canada is seeking proposals from web development contractors to create a Drupal website that will be a key tool in a major consumer campaign to launch in Canada in the first week of October, 2004. The campaign is intended to put pressure on a consumer products company to change their practices to be more sustainable. We will be initiating a campaign that recruits grassroots activists throughout Canada to call attention to the unsustainable practices of the company, and to urge consumers to make appropriate purchasing decisions.
The finished project will be a community website built on the Drupal platform that facilitates organizing by activists, with a focus on encouraging on-the-ground (not to the exclusion of cyber) activism. The campaign will have three staff members who will be contributing to the site once it is completed and using it as a tool to organize volunteer activists across the country.
