Here is my idea:
- install module (+dependencies)
- go to user/[uid]/webmail-settings
- set here server, username, password (+ some more options ) for that user.
- and it is done and working.

For example I have login to drupal admin, but i do have email info@domain and mail-login is mail address.

I have users with emails at much domains, somewhere username is username, somewhere username is email address etc.

It is wrong way if there is any binding between drupal user and webmails settings and only some defined servers available.

That stupid vTiger CRM does have webmail working, here we have Drupal and we do not have any working webmail :(

Please see that vTiger how webmail should work. Im really shocked that Drupal 6 does not have any really working webmail.

Sorry, it's not my intent to be rude, but all you read here is true.
I've been trying for several days to make one of the (few) Drupal 6 webmail solutions work, and i must admit none of them is correctly working. I mean, you don't want them to make coffee, but merely receive, send, and sort mails.
I know it's open-source, i know all that can be answered to me (stop criticizing, participate...), but it's astonishing that indeed Drupal 6 up to now has no integrated webmail API working properly...
What can be done ?

Unfortunately it looks like the module maintainer no longer has time for this project.

Looking for a new maintainer.
Unfortunately I no longer have the time to maintain this project and thus I am looking for a new maintainer.

So until some other developer decides to pick this up, the project is in an abandoned state.

Answer to my own "comment #1" : finally made it work, with the proper imap configuration. Sorry for the disturbance !
