how can I translate these sentences?
Is there any way to do it in the theme file?

Since I did not find any documentation on the theming I only played around with the files in the default folder.
Is there a way to edit / change the sentences?

This would have to be done in the skin.fla file. I have published all of these files on the github repository http://github.com/mediafront/dashplayer, so you should be good to go.
