Anonymous (not verified) commentedYes, I suppose I should get around to building a new version of the theme for Drupal 7. Will add it to my todo list, can't promise when though...
Vc Developer commentedOk, Thanks!...
amatzies commentedHi BWPanda,
That's a great theme. What about the drupal 7 version? Are you still working on it?
Thanks in advance.
KirstenLangholz commentedHello BWPanda,
I would love to use the theme for one of my friends. Would you mind if I start porting it to D7? If not, I would start with it on the weekend and see how far I will get as this will be my very first port.
As I am not really familiar with all this git thing, I will attach a zip file here.
See, I found the original theme and was sooo happy to see, somebody already did the major part. Thank you for all the time you spend already on this!

Anonymous (not verified) commentedI haven't had the time to sit down and work out how best to go porting a D6 theme to D7 (was hoping someone would write a nice step-by-step tutorial), and am even thinking of just re-doing it from scratch...
Feel free to start porting it yourself, then provide me with a .zip or .patch and I'll review it. Might just give me the initiative I need :)

KirstenLangholz commentedHey, no problem. I do know time issues, believe me.
So, if you feel fine, I will start the update on the weekend and share the result with you. You will definately have to review it - I doubt it will be fine in the first run.
Looking forward to support you!

KirstenLangholz commentedOkay, on the weekend I started to port the theme. I it is roughly working but still needs some adjustments to work properly all over. Will finish it on Eastern and upload it here for interested people to test it.
Just wanted to give you an update on the actual status. Thanks for reading and your patience!

domineaux commentedI should have written sooner. I love this theme. I'm just now moving a couple sites to D7 and will use it for sure.
KirstenLangholz commentedHey domineaux,
I will upload it here on the weekend (May 1st, 2011). I would really appreciate it if you could test it then.

domineaux commentedNot trying to be pushy, waiting patiently for D7 version.
Thanks

Anonymous (not verified) commentedTada! A D7 dev branch.
I've just copied the code from 6.x-1.x to a new 7.x-1.x branch ready to start migrating. Will start this in the next day or so.
domineaux commentedGood news!
cheche commentedIs there a way to test your D7 branch?

cheche commentedHi, That is the one that I had tested and is not working for me. I gather some info here: http://drupal.org/node/254940 and I managed to fix some issues. Here is the patch. I know that is not finished. but is a little step futher.
drupalshrek commentedI too wanted to have a Drupal 7 version of this theme, since it obviously would be perfect for my chess website chesspos.com.
You might be tempted to think I succeeded if you look at the chesspos.com website. However, I tried and failed to update scaccarium, so I decided to work the other way round, by starting with a working Drupal 7 theme and trying to apply Scaccarium look-and-feel to that.
I simply started with Bartik 7.14 (default theme), and firstly set the colours more or less as they are for Scaccarium, i.e.:
Then, after struggling (and failing) to get the chess pieces as they are for D6, I simply shrunk them down to a more reasonable size for a logo, and set the LOGO IMAGE SETTINGS to my custom logo knight-bishop_140x146_black.png which is smaller and has the shadow done in black.
You can see the logo on its own at:
http://chesspos.com/sites/default/files/knight-bishop_140x146_black.png
And that's all.
OK, it's not as nice at all as the original, which has the beautiful large chess pieces which cleverly overlap the header, but it's, let's say 90% of the look for 10% of the effort.
Hope that helps you get what you're after!
Maybe someone with more CSS skills than I have could use this technique to create a genuine Drupal 7 Scaccarium? Certainly trying to upgrade the existing theme looks like more work than starting with a working Drupal 7 theme and Scaccariumising it.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedI no longer have time to maintain this project, so am looking for a new maintainer to take it over. Let me know if you're interested.
In the meantime, the patch in #15 needs reviewing by others before I can commit it (I don't have time to review it myself, but am willing to commit it if others report that it works).
pokadan commentedI'm happy to handle this issue.
I have tested and I confirm the patch does apply succesfully to code version 7.x-1.x-dev.
I have not tested to see if everything(or most of it) works
I have not reviewed the code to see if the code is on point or if the code quality is satisfactory.
pokadan commentedAfter applying the patch and installing the theme I get a great deal of errors.
pokadan commentedI've taken the theme nearer to completion . All that's left to do is upgrade template.php to Drupal 7.
Youa have theme attached.
