Love the IPE feature. Well done. Are there any plans, enabling IPE also for minipanels? From an end user perspective it would make sense to have the same mechanisms for both panel pages and minipanels.

This really would be an amazing feature.
We work with a lot of newspapers and they often needs different sections on their startpage. Each section contains of articles from that section (eg. "sport", "news", "politics").
I usually solve this with a master panel, that contains a mini-panel for each section.

But one thing our customers really often askes about is the possibility to drag n drop panes between the diffrent mini-panels (and use the in-place editor for this).

I'm not shure how much work it is to get this to work? I'm not that deep into the code of ctools and panels, so I don't think I'm able to solve this on my own.

But it would really be a great feature.

From what I understand, Mini Panels is not given the option to be rendered with IPE because it nests multiple IPE "interfaces" within each other (the Mini Panel and parent Panel that loads the Mini Panel), thus causing IPE not to save properly/function.

I've created a workaround module for this. It isn't "ideal", but it achieves the basic desired functionality.
