Can someone please explain the upgrade step for me.
I see that my version is required by Data and Feeds. Do I disable all those modules and then Ctools, then remove the Ctools folder and replace it with the new one? Then do I re-enable them and then run update.php? Will this affect all the Drupal data in my site like Feeds and Data I already have?

Here is what I did:
Backed up database.
Disabled the following modules :
Ctools
Feeds
Fast feed news
Feeds import
Feeds News
Data
Data search
Data node
Oauth provider UI
Oauth
Job Scheduler

Deleted the ctools dir.
Replaced it with the news ctools dir
Refreshed the Modules page.
Saw the Ctools new version # and enabled the new Ctools module.
cleared cache
went to update.php and Drupal noticed the new version of Ctools and gave these messages:

Update #6005

* No queries

Update #6007

* No queries
-----------------------

Re-enabled the modules.
All looks good so far.

Generally I don't recommend disabling the CTools module when doing upgrades.
