In the New Hampshire group, the admins are unable to add any vocabularies/terms at http://groups.drupal.org/node/3207/og/vocab
I've recently updated to use custom panels pages, and given our grouop a great setup.
However, we'd like to have the ability to tag posts with a region, as our group is now starting to separate into 3 meetups, but we want to be able to keep the group "intact" and display information relevant to each "region" of the NH DUG...
Thanks for looking into this...
Also: the original creator of the group (sethcohn) is also unable to add any vocabs/terms.

gregglesMy guess is that this is either a bug in og_vocab or a mis-configuration on groups.drupal.org.
gregglesI should say I looked into the g.d.o configuration a bit and it seems right to me, so I'm moving to og_vocab.

amitaibu@greggles,
Can you give me admin permissions to have a look on g.d.o? (sorry for the late reply, but the little free time that I have I spend on OG7 and message7)
greggles@Amitaibu - no problem, I understand conflicting priorities.
You now have lots more permissions on g.d.o. If you need more you might be able to grant them to yourself or just ask again.

winston CreditAttribution: winston commentedAny update on this? As a gdo group admin I'm very concerned that there will be a time when I'll really need to make a taxonomy change and I won't be able to.
Our group (NYC) make heavy use of taxonomy for organizing our pages.

himerus CreditAttribution: himerus commentedStill looking for advice/resolution to this issue for our New Hampshire group, and a new group I just created (omega) is also having the same issue.
gregglesIf you can review the og and og_vocab modules and confirm they work, let me know. Then we can talk (#drupal-groups) and you can help getting them to work on g.d.o.

Hanno CreditAttribution: Hanno commented+1 would be great if this will work again on groups.drupal.org

himerus CreditAttribution: himerus commentedFor those looking to add a vocabulary/terms to their GDO groups that are still unable to, someone brought this link to my attention....
http://groups.drupal.org/node/YOURGROUPSNID/og/vocab/add/vocabulary
I was able to (inserting my groups NID appropriately) add a vocabulary, which I was able to then easily add terms to.
@greggles, I think this shows there is no permissions issue, but horrible UI issue with og_vocab, and not printing out a link to "add vocab" from the vocab list page. Otherwise, I was able to create a new vocab & terms as my permission in the group would suggest.

tvn CreditAttribution: tvn commentedWe are having the same issue at Prairie group. Very annoying.
Thanks himerus for comment#11 it did work! However there is no possibility to edit vocabulary which was added, in case we will want to change some settings. Any idea of a link which might work for that?
Also after I created vocabulary - I got redirected to a page with message something like:
"Created new vocabulary X.
You are not authorized to access this page."
So maybe it is something with permissions after all?
robcarrManaged to create an OG vocabulary, but not able to edit/delete any of the terms on a local g.d.o site (eg, http://groups.drupal.org/node/1916/og/vocab).
Tried http://groups.drupal.org/admin/content/taxonomy/edit/term/[tid] but was denied access.

christefano CreditAttribution: christefano commentedThere is a patch at http://drupal.org/node/1472124 for this that needs review.

Robin Millette CreditAttribution: Robin Millette commentedHaving the same problem at http://groups.drupal.org/montreal-quebec
I was able to add a vocabulary with this workaround http://groups.drupal.org/node/558/og/vocab/add/vocabulary
Comment #16
christefano CreditAttribution: christefano commentedThe fix is in the 6.x-1.x-dev branch but it's not in a release version yet. I've asked if this will be in the next release at #1860364: Offer to co-maintain D6 branch of OG Vocab
Comment #17
Robin Millette CreditAttribution: Robin Millette commented#1472124: User with appropriate rights cannot edit term in an OG vocabulary appears to have a fix. Hoping to find out soon :-)
(doh, #14 already mentions that issue)
rootworkIt looks like the 6.x-1.3 release still hasn't been made. What's more, the workaround doesn't work for me — I can access the form, but when I click "Save" on the new vocabulary I get access denied.
Any way we could push this forward?
rootworkAh, now I see that while the workaround takes you to an "access denied" page, it does actually create the vocabulary. So that's good. Still, of course, it would be nice to see a fix. Is there any way we (group maintainers) can help?
christefano CreditAttribution: christefano commentedI've requested to be a co-maintainer for OG Vocab: https://drupal.org/node/1860364
For what it's worth, I wrote to Amitai privately over a year ago with the same offer and he almost immediately committed the fix for this issue. Unfortunately, it was only to the dev branch and I don't think there hasn't been any activity since.
rootworkCool, thanks for being willing to take that on!
christefano CreditAttribution: christefano commentedThere is now a 6.x-1.3 release for OG Vocab:
https://www.drupal.org/node/2311423
The patch at https://www.drupal.org/node/1472124 was already RTBC and committed to the 6.x-1.x branch and I'm marking this issue as a duplicate.
